The Old Station House Bed and Breakfast in the White Peak area of the Peak District is one of the closest B&Bs to Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Bakewell, three of the area's most popular attractions. We are located in the picturesque village of Rowsley, with a pub and two upmarket restaurants within a five minute walk. We have plenty of off road parking and secure bicycle storage on the property so our family run B&B is the perfect base while exploring the National Park.
The Derwent Valley Heritage Way will take you from Rowsley to Chatsworth House in just over an hour, along an easy flat trail through the beautiful national park. Other local footpaths lead to Haddon Hall, Bakewell, Matlock Bath and the Nine Ladies Stone Circle, while Peak Rail steam trains run from Rowsley South station to Matlock at weekends. Our information pack has details of all local walks and we have plenty of guidebooks and maps to help you explore further afield.
Our beautiful house was designed in 1850 by Joseph Paxton, the year before he built the famous Crystal Palace for the Great Exhibition in London. We have just three guest bedrooms, two doubles and one twin/superking which has extra long 6' 6" beds. All the rooms are fully ensuite, have TV/DVD players and Wi-Fi, as well as views over the surrounding countryside. We also have a guest lounge where our visitors can relax in the evenings. Served at a communal table, our breakfast is second to none, with free range eggs from the farm opposite our house, local free range bacon, local farm produced sausages, homemade bread and preserves.
Three nights midweek from £210*
As well as the local village eateries, just a mile away is the award winning Devonshire Arms, Beeley - regularly voted Derbyshire's Gastro Pub of the Year. East Lodge Country House Hotel, the popular wedding venue, is just across the road from us.
We look forward to welcoming you to our lovely home and helping to make your stay in the Peak District as enjoyable as possible.
